.CITAZIONESHOOT: GIRLFRIENDS’ GUIDE TO DIVORCE Films Lisa Edelstein & Paul Adelstein in Gastown’s Rainier Provisions
It’s not Christian Grey pouring tea for Anastasia Steele but another NBC Universal couple is meeting in Gastown’s Rainier Provisions today — Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce’s Abby (Lisa Adelstein) and Jake (Paul Adelstein). He doesn’t look happy, but this is him relaxing between takes, not necessarily in character as Jake.
Divorce seemed to be off the table for Abby and Jake in the season one finale of Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce. But what kind of series would that be?
Bravo image.
The Bravo dramedy is back in metro Vancouver to shoot a second season of thirteen episodes this summer. From showrunner Marti Noxon and based on books by Vicki Iovine, Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce is a contemporary and fun take on a woman tackling life after divorce with the help of her girlfriends. Best-selling self-help author Abby navigates her new life in Los Angeles as a single Mom in her early forties as her husband Paul hooks up with CW actress Becca. Not surprisingly, Abby finds advice from her single friends, divorced former model Phoebe (Beau Garrett), lawyer Delia (Necar Zadegan) and newly separated Jo (Alanna Ubach) more relevant than her married ones and that leads to some big changes — like hooking up with her own younger man Will (Warren Christie). In the season one finale, Abby had choices to make:: a Mexican getaway with Will or a reconciliation with Jake. She chose Jake but we can see her happy ending will be undone by the unexpected pregnancy of Jake’s CW actress girlfriend Becca.
Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce is filming in Rainier Provisions this morning but it’s difficult to see anything without being in the shot since cameras are inside looking out. Production moves across the street into Bauhaus Restaurant this afternoon.

.CITAZIONEGirlfriends' Guide Adds Mark Valley, Baby Daddy Lead and More for Season 2
Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce has found the cure for what ails Abby: a strong dose of Mark Valley, to be administered semi-regularly throughout Season 2.
The Bravo dramedy has cast the Boston Legal alum in the recurring role of “confident and charming TV personality” Dr. Harris, who’ll pursue Lisa Edelstein’s character in the upcoming season, TVLine has learned exclusively.

In other casting news, Baby Daddy‘s Jean-Luc Bilodeau will guest-star in a Season 2 episode as Adam, a handsome, young dude Alanna Ubach’s Jo meets on Tinder.
Also: Joanna Vannicola (Being Erica) will recur as Jonathan, an androgynous power wedding planner (but for whom?); Henderson Wade (Criminal Minds) will recur as Walt, Max and Ford’s manny who helps Abby in a pinch; and Susan Hogan (Night Heat, Battlestar Galactica) will guest-star as Carol, mother of Delia’s wealthy hook-up, Gordon.
Bilodeau and Hogan join previously announced Season 2 guest star Retta (Parks and Recreation), who’ll show up as a rival editor at Abby’s new job.
The series is currently in production on Season 2.
