Lisa Edelstein's part mention:
-The couple that fans have affectionately dubbed "Olitz" will be confronted with more hurdles when Scandal returns with fresh episodes beginning next week. Still devastated by the revelation that Olivia conspired to commit voter fraud to get him elected, Fitz puts the whiskey aside long enough to get down to the business of replacing the Supreme Court justice he permanently removed from the bench. But his pick's confirmation process is threatened by the emergence of a mistress, played by House's Lisa Edelstein, who is — you guessed it — Olivia's client. While Olivia and Fitz, who last saw each other at a christening for the baby of Fitz's Machiavellian chief of staff Cyrus (Jeff Perry), won't meet up again this week, the two will share an unforgettable phone call, according to the actors. "When I left after filming that call, I was so screwed up!" Washington says while getting touched up in the makeup trailer.
"They are always complicated conversations," Goldwyn says, "but this one was tricky because we're at a really dark place in our relationship."-. -

Lisa Edelstein Photoshoot from Scandal
SourceCITAZIONEABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2, episode 16 review: About that Olivia / Fitz conversation…
After everything that Olivia and Fitz have went through on “Scandal,” who knew that their phone conversation would be one of the most devastating things that has ever happened to them? Within the span of just a few sort seconds, we learned that it was the betrayal of trust, and not the betrayal of actions, that really managed to tear the two apart.
This episode was certainly emotional from that standpoint, to say the least, and we don’t quite know where it takes these two now. Are they really over? Far from it, but Jake is starting to enter the picture more than ever. Mellie has been made aware of a few specific things (which is certainly dangerous), and Ms. Pope is getting at least a little bit closer to Scott Foley’s character.
While Huck told Quinn about the art of his job this week, the other scenes that we really figure will have people talking involve Lisa Edelstein, who gave a winning performance this week as a woman who was clearly in some serious need of help in a Supreme Court appointment scandal with a man that she supposedly had an affair with. This was a standalone story and we don’t imagine that we will be seeing the character again, but Liv definitely has to chalk this one up as a win for the time being: not only did they manage to get Sarah to keep her job and free from more scrutiny, but her husband’s concerns over a paternity test ended up dissipating by the time the hour was over.
Overall, what did you think about this “Scandal” episode, and did the Olivia / Fitz moment really stand out to you above everything else? If you want to read even more news pertaining to this hour, you can do so over at the link here.
